Birthday Offering for Jesus
Each year around Thanksgiving, we receive our Birthday Offering for Jesus. Years ago, we recognized that Christmas is the only birthday celebration where everyone receives a gift except the One whose birth we are celebrating. So how can we give a gift to Jesus?
He tells us in Matthew 25:40:
“The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’”
When we give to those in need, we are giving to Jesus.
Over the past several years, we have had the privilege of giving hundreds of thousands of dollars to ministries around the world that serve people in need. Through the Birthday Offering for Jesus, we support ministries that advance the gospel in developing nations where churches need help reaching their communities, as well as ministries serving marginalized people here in the United States.
This year, 10 percent of the offering will support a ministry bringing hope, healing, and the message of Jesus the Messiah to the people of Israel. The remaining 90 percent will be divided among three global ministries making a difference around the world:

Vietnam Bible School Project
Clarence Matheny Ministries Leadership Training Institute
Jacob’s Hope
Each of these four ministries is worthy of our generous support. Please pray about how God would have you participate and be a blessing. Each year, we challenge our Cedar Lake families to give their best Christmas gift to the One who made Christmas possible.

Project 42 seeks to transform the future by partnering with exceptional frontline workers and organizations serving among unreached people groups. Its areas of focus include missionary mobilization, Scripture translation, church planting, creative access—including business as mission—compassion ministry, and awareness.
Vietnam has a tremendous need for trained pastors and church leaders. As the church continues to grow rapidly, the need for qualified leadership has become increasingly urgent. The Vietnam Bible School Project equips pastors and leaders to serve the growing church effectively.
CMMLTI develops future leaders through Clarence Matheny Bible College while investing in current church leaders through conferences and other training opportunities across several East African nations.
Jacob’s Hope brings the hope of Jesus to the Jewish people around the world. Jacob’s Hope ministers to Jewish people around the world in Eastern Europe, Ethiopia, Africa, and of course Israel.
